Software Update 24. February, 2002

Today's changes include software to handle redirects. For example, I moved the page that used to be at /about.html to /about/aboutpicks.html, and added a whole directory for other About... pages. But if someone tries to get to /about.html, their browser will see a 301 HTML result code, along with a new location for the page (which might not even be the same page anymore, as in this case), and they'll get there automagically. If it's a search engine that does it, it'll get told to update its link. In the long run, this should help me keep bad links at bay, which I think is a Good Thing.
