Guess there will be an update of sorts today. A trip to the mall left me with something I just had to write about.
I had headed out to pick up a new tie for the party I’m going to tonight. But first I needed to get some lunch. I stopped in at the Arby’s, since I was pretty sure roast beast was the right kind of food for lunch. It was a reasonable choice, but when I went to wash it down with the milk I’d ordered, I found that the milk was sour, in spite of having a “serve-by” date of January 5.
When I went back up to the counter, first it took quite a while to even get anyone’s attention. Then when I handed the milk back to the gal and told her it was sour, she offered to give me an orange juice instead. I nearly voided the roast beef, potato cakes and sour milk right then. I’m not sure what the hell she was thinking, but even the idea of orange juice on top of sour milk is something I find repulsive. I settled for a bottle of water and got the hell out. Figured it was best to just cut my losses, since any further interaction there wasn’t likely to be very satisfying.
But at least I found a cool tie. Yet another Garcia design, and I’ll be wrapping it around my neck in a couple hours. And hopefully that’ll help usher in a fine new year.
