A relatively simple lasagna. Meat, herbs, tomatoes, cheese. Yum.
Ingredients:
- 16 oz. dry lasagna noodles
- 6 cups Dave's Red Sauce
- handful fresh sweet basil, chopped
- 1/2 lb. ricotta cheese, shredded
- 1/2 lb. parmesan cheese, shredded
- 3/4 lb. mozarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 lb. prosciutto ham, chopped finely
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F/190°C.
- Start large pan of water boiling.
- Once water reaches a boil, add lasagna noodles to water.
- When water reaches a boil again, cook noodles for 10-12 minutes.
- Put a thin layer of sauce in bottom of 9"x13" pan.
- Arrange a two layers of noodles on sauce, one layer going each direction.
- Sprinkle noodles with a third of each kind of cheese, half the sauce, half the basil and the ham.
- Arrange a two layers of noodles on sauce, one layer going each direction.
- Sprinkle noodles with a third of each kind of cheese, remaining sauce and basil.
- Arrange remaining noodles on top of sauce.
- Cover noodles with remaining cheese.
- Put in oven for 45 minutes to an hour, until cheese on top is golden brown.
Preparation time: 40 minutes
Cooking time: 45 minutes to 1 hour
