One thing to watch out for in Dublin is that many of the street names change every couple blocks. This is fairly common in older European cities in general (at least in my experience), but it's confusing to Americans, and the maps we have don't go into enough detail to alert you to all the name-changes. This means you can be walking along, looking for a cross-street, and never find it, because the name you're looking for doesn't exist where you are, but is off to one side or the other by a block or two. It's definitely something to watch out for.
