The original plan: Get on Highway 61, driving south along the river from the Twin Cities, stopping and seeing whatever caught my eye along the way. The rules were simple: no interstates and no chain restaurants. As I’ve already mentioned, things didn’t work out exactly as planned, but I still had fun on the trip.
