Mississippi at flood stage

These are some pictures and movies of the Mississippi River near my house. It's maybe a half-foot below the predicted crest, but it's still pretty impressive. For the raw data, NOAA has flood forecasts for Minneapolis.

The Corps of Engineers lock. It's open to allow more flow through. Two cool things in this photo. One is the trough in the water below the lock. The other is all the people standing on the bridge looking at the river. The only other time I've seen the bridge this busy was during the fireworks on the river.
