July 2007

29. July, 2007 - up too damned late - or too damned early

Sorry about the lack of updates this month. But hey, at least I got one more done before we moved into August, right?

Especially since August means thirteen Saints games in twenty-two days. It may not sound like a whole lot, but it’s an awful lot of games to go to in not all that many days. Especially since there are a couple pretty significant milestones in the work life during that time.

But hey, at the moment that doesn’t really matter. It’s nearly five ayem on a Sunday morning and I’m still awake (and waiting for a pizza to finish cooking). Yeah, I did crawl out of bed about two in the afternoon yesterday/today, but I’m still feeling as if I should have been asleep about six hours ago. Oh well. It’s a good weekend to be stupid, I think.

Not a ton of links, but I’m thinking that this is one of the better updates lately. Nearly everything is actually worth clicking on, which, if I have to admit to being lame (and I think I do), hasn’t always been the case around here lately. But really, there’s some good (or at least clickworthy) stuff here. Or maybe that’s just the beer talking.

23. July, 2007 - long waits

Haven’t felt a lot like blogging. Or taking pictures. Or much anything lately. There hasn’t been any one thing bugging me, but just a lot of little things that seem a lot bigger when the weather is hot.

Luckily, I’ve got a pretty big backlog of links, so today is going to be one of those where I just dump a bunch of links on you. Some folks like that.

9. July, 2007 - took a break

Sorry things have been a bit slow around here, but things have been, well, a bit slow around here. Since the 4th of July holiday fell on a Wednesday, I took Thursday and Friday off from work. Basically spent my entire five-day weekend hiding from the heat and watching old movies. Except for ball games on Friday and Saturday, which the Saints won. Sunday, because of the heat, I didn’t go to the game, which is the first time this year I’ve not gone to a game when I was in town. And they lost. Drat.

Now they’re on the road for the next week and a half, and I’m back to work. I guess it’ll be good, since I didn’t really do anything useful around home during my time off, but I still wouldn’t mind a few more days of indolence. There are some projects around the house that I should have completed, but I guess they’re going to be squeezed into evenings and weekends.

Over on flickr, I’m still posting a photo most days. I’m finishing off the pictures taken out the airplane window on the way back from WWDC, and when they’re done, we’ll see how I did operating the camera at last Friday’s post-game fireworks. I’ve been lazy enough that I haven’t even looked at what’s sitting in my camera yet. We can be surprised (or disappointed) together, I guess.
