Sorry I haven’t blogged for a while. Last week I was out in California, visiting the home office for the planning for the next version of that application I work on. And the weekends (and evenings) lately have been filled with preparations for the Saints baseball season, which begins at home in just a couple days (yes, I know they’re pre-season games, but I’ll take ’em).
Not really a whole lot new here beyond that. Yesterday I got out the lawnmower for the first time in 2007. The “Service Engine Soon” light came on in my truck too, so I had to make an appointment to have that looked at, but since I was already stopping at the station to get gas for the mower, it was pretty easy to do.
And really, that’s about it. I guess I could talk about the upcoming postal rate increase and the “Forever Stamp,” but I’ve still got a handful of two-centers around from the last increase, so I’ll be happy to use ’em up. And besides, it’s time for me to haul myself up to the smallest room to get ready for work for the day, so I think I’ll leave it at this. Have a good week, and a heckuva weekend.
- Hey, Adobe Ships Creative Suite 3. First bit of new shrink-wrapped software with my name in the about box in a while. Feels good to see it hit the streets. [nack]
- The Strobist talks about Flickr and You, Part 1: Rebekka’s Experience. Interesting story. And don’t miss the followups. Part 2: The World’s Window on You, Part 3: Case Study - Sara Lando, and the soon-to-be-released part 4.
- Dangit. Supreme Court turns down Michael New. Sounds like that’s the end of that.
- Lloyd L. Chambers is saying Goodbye Nikon? He’s got some good points about Nikon’s lack of innovation lately. I keep hoping there will be new stuff soon, but I’ve been hoping that for a while. I’m also thinking about doing an IR Conversion on My D-50. Sounds interesting, to be sure. [top]
- The EFF offers A Legal Primer on the 16-digit number that shall not be revealed. And in the process points out why the DMCA (which makes the number illegal to reveal) is such a bad law. And further, why you shouldn’t spend any money on HD-DVDs. [boing boing]
