I'm being a little lazy with the links and commentary today. Sorry, but I'm all holidazed out, and worrying if I'll have someone to give a "Happy New Year" kiss to in a couple days. As my friend Susan points out, it's the one "free kiss" you get all year long, and it's worth trying to get right, because you might get a chance to parley it into something more.
- Jakob Nielsen's at it again with the Top Ten Web-Design Mistakes of 2002. As Fark! says,
Don't Fark! your website!
- Megnut provides some Dial-Up Revelations, including reasons why CSS and RSS are important. Guess I oughta get the RSS feed working here on Dave's Picks one of these days.
- Flame Warriors categorizes all the types of flamerz.
- New Networks Institute presents The Unauthorized Biography of the Baby Bells & Info-Scandal. It tells all about the badness perpetrated by the Baby Bells. Looks like some fascinating reading, but I haven't had a chance to read it myself yet. [boing boing]
- When 2 groups marginalized by society get together, the result is good for all. There's the touching holiday story I was looking to link to. [boing boing]
- Logitech Pocket Digital alternatives available Looks like SMaL has two more alternatives available. The links lead to Radio Shack catalog for their $80 "flatfoto", and Oregon Scientific for their $130 "dss6618" - both list Mac support. I had another email saying that the Radio Shaft version of the camera was pretty good. I'll post more once I know more, but I'll probably be making a stop by Radio Shaft for the first time in a lot of years to see if they can get the camera right where Logitech couldn't. [some guy]
- Next Year in Orbit looks at how this year went in space, and what's coming for next year. Interesting look at what NASA's problems are.
