4. May, 2001 - fun and silliness
- So we had what felt like the first summertime rain on Monday. It was
over 70 out before the rain, and it was generally pretty darned pleasant. But
over the course of the day, I saw three people bicycling by, paying
no attention to the road, the weather, or the pretty post-rain clouds. Instead
they were gabbing on cell-phones. Where's my Cell Phone Jammer?
Oh,
here it is.
- With Derring-Do and Airplane Glue a group of model airplane buffs plan to
fly their 11 pound plane across the Atlantic. Then again, maybe the
Fly Powered Airplane is the more interesting project.
- Niagra is supposedly a Genie in a Bottle. And now you can buy it online,
thanks to nerve.com
- The West Virginia Surf Report! -- another blog/ezine. Pretty amusing.
- American Mile Markers is a set of photos taken every mile from the
Statue of Liberty to the Golden Gate Bridge. 3304 miles, 3304 photos.
Spiffy!
- The Silicon Zoo is a collection of pictures of various chips, and the secrets
designers have hidden within them.
- karatechimp.mpeg is a fine video, but it gives me a vague worry, in a sort
of Planet of the Apes-ish way.
